Elevate Music is a performance health and psychology consultancy, headed up by Lucy Heyman MSc (RCM) FRSA. We work with artists, music industry organisations, universities and charities, helping to optimise performance, support health and prevent injury in musicians.

To do this, we provide performance health check-ins, performance coaching, workshops and training for performers and those that work with them.

We’ve worked with clients such as Universal Music, ASCAP, BAPAM, Help Musicians, Music Support, the PRS and the Royal Society of Musicians and we’ve given lectures at the Royal Northern College of Music, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Leeds Conservatoire, ICMP and many more.

You’ll also find Elevate Music speaking at conferences and chairing panels at events such as the ISM Empowered Musician, at Abbey Road Studios for Universal Music, at the Roundhouse for Help Musicians, at events for the PRS Members Fund, BBC Introducing, AIM Connected and the AVA Festival.

Elevate is run by Lucy, a vocal and performance coach, researcher and lecturer. She spent the past 15 years working and touring with some of pop’s biggest names, so understands the challenges facing touring artists. She is the co-author (with Rhian Jones) of industry-funded musicians’ health and performance manual, Sound Advice, and contributed two chapters (Vocal Health and Peak Performance) in MITC’s Touring and Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual, supported by Live Nation and published by Omnibus.

Lucy has published original research on the health and well-being experiences of singers working in pop music, and hosts the Elevate Music Podcast in partnership with Help Musicians. She holds an MSc in Performance Science from the Royal College of Music and a BA in Music from Bristol University. She’s on the BRIT Award Voting Academy and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
